OUR B.P.M:

Our mission at The Telly is pretty simple: make good, authentic Christian radio.
To do this we have three things that we believe are the heart of The Telly. We call them our "B.P.M" {Beats Per Minute, get it? heart? music? BPM - Get it?}

Our studio and office is in Geelong, Victoria Australia.

Firstly, the Bible is the inspired authoritative word of God. It is how we know God because it is one of the ways He chose to reveal Himself to us. As people of the Book, how does that affect our focus on air? How do we see the world and all we do through that filter?
Secondly: People. When a lot of "community" radio stations talk about their "community" - what they really mean is the people who give them money. It all feels very "one way". But what does authentic community and relationships look like with real people? And lastly, Music. Here is a radical thought for Australia: Christian radio plays Christian music. The gift of music to the church is such a phenomenal blessing! There are amazing Christian artists from all over the world excelling in every genre. Why aren't we celebrating these artists? |

Having worked in the creative arts since graduating from Bible College 30 years ago, DJ is the captain of this wild adventure ship. Raised on the Gold Coast DJ has called Geelong home after 20 years of living in the great city.
With a resume of experience that is hard to believe but includes: - a 23 year career as an award winning photographer with studios on the Gold Coast and Geelong that included shooting thousands of events all over the world including weddings in Zimbabwe, Texas & Pennsylvania. - running a record label for a decade that signed legendary Australian bands Sons Of Korah, Compliments of Gus & Brethren. - starting his first podcast in 2004 - the first christian music podcast in the world. - being the first Australian media personality on many social media & content sharing platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Youtube & Telegram. - event managing huge music festivals and booking American music artists on sold out tour dates all over Australia. - directing countless music videos for world renown Christian artists and bands. - and that is just scratching the surface. |
DJ with by far his greatest achievement: Being married to the wonderful Benita and their three strapping teenagers: Drummond, Judah & Galvin.

But one of DJ's original passions was music radio. Growing up in the 80's making his own "Pause/ REC" mixtapes and radio shows on the TDK C90's, DJ cut his teeth on actual radio doing "youth music" shows for Rhema test broadcasts on both the Gold Coast {now Juice FM} and Geelong {now 96three FM} in the mid 1990's. Volunteering for community radio stations and doing hundreds of hours of podcasting finally lead him to hanging up the camera professionally and entering the absolutely insane world of breakfast radio in 2017. Running a successful breakfast show while pioneering new streaming radio formats and ideas saw DJ nominated for multiple awards in the industry and a couple of major wins in 2018 took him to the USA to experience the Christian Music Broadcasters conference.
During the nightmare that was 2020 & 2021 in Australia DJ believed it was time to walk the walk and not just talk the talk - if christian radio could be better... why not actually do it? And on 21st of June 2021 The Telly adventure began. |
